Overview

John Bruton is a business lawyer with over eleven years of experience focused on assisting clients with a broad range of transactional and corporate matters.  He regularly represents business owners, entrepreneurs, family-held companies, emerging-growth companies, multi-national companies, real estate developers, investors, landowners, and contractors. He often represents sellers and acquirers of privately held companies throughout the United States, especially in the Southeastern U.S., and has worked with clients in many sectors and industries such as manufacturing, mining, distribution, services, real estate, energy, construction, chemicals, insurance, health care, medical device, automotive, marine, restaurant, technology, and software.

John’s experience includes advising on corporate deals, such as mergers, acquisitions, sales and other exits, investments, joint ventures, platform and roll-up structures, capital raising, recapitalizations, divestitures, spin-offs, and strategic alliances.  His experience also includes assisting with real estate deals, including with respect to developing, financing, selling, buying, entitling, and zoning.  He also serves as outside general counsel, advising on corporate governance, succession planning, and commercial contracts, among other areas.

Outside of the office, John enjoys playing golf with family and friends.  John also enjoys running, fishing, reading, and supporting USC athletics.
