Associate - Commercial and Technology Contracts | Charleston, SC or Birmingham, AL

Maynard Nexsen is seeking a highly motivated mid-level Commercial and Technology Contracts Associate.  Preference for office location in our Charleston, SC or Birmingham, AL office but open to remote work for the right candidate. 

Maynard Nexsen is a full-service law firm with more than 550 attorneys in 24 offices from coast to coast across the United States. The firm was formed in 2023 when two long-standing successful, client-centered firms combined to form a powerful national team.    

The firm seeks an experienced commercial and technology contracts attorney with 3-5 years of relevant experience.  This role will focus on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating business to business commercial contracts.  

Candidate should have experience with a wide variety of commercial contracts, such as:  

• Terms of sale/purchase, vendor and procurement contracts, consulting services, supply, manufacturing, distribution and logistics agreements; and 

• SaaS, software licensing, software development, IT services and other technology related agreements  

Preferred experience:  

• Familiarity with data privacy laws (CCPA, GDPR, etc.) and experience reviewing and negotiating data protection agreements is a plus, but not a requirement 

• Excellent contract drafting, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with a keen understanding of key commercial contract provisions including Limitations of Liability, Indemnification, Representations & Warranties, and Intellectual Property Rights, and Information Security 

• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
