Associate - Insurance Regulatory | Austin, TX
The Austin, TX office of Maynard Nexsen, a full-service law firm with more than 550 attorneys across 24 offices nationwide, seeks an Associate with 2-5 years’ experience to assist their growing Insurance Regulatory Team.
This position seeks attorneys interested and committed to developing an insurance regulatory practice and expertise serving all areas of insurance including traditional life and health insurers, managed care organizations and other risk bearing entities, property and casualty carriers, surplus lines insures, reciprocal exchanges, title insurers and reinsurers, as well as company, agent, MGA, TPA licensing and related corporate work. You will interface with clients and regulators and have an opportunity to develop expertise. The position will entail counseling clients or supporting senior attorneys counseling clients regarding licensing/authorizing insurance companies, product development and form/rate filing, general insurance regulatory compliance, and financial and market conduct exams. It will also include regulatory and compliance research and analysis on a multi-state basis.
While much of the work will be based out of the Austin office, the applicant can also expect to assist Maynard Nexsen attorneys across the Firm. Applicants must have a solid academic record and excellent research and writing skills.

Note, prior insurance regulatory or a health care background is a plus but not a requirement. We are looking for a person who is interested in learning and developing a career in this area and are willing to teach and train.
