Overview
Amy Rodenberger is an Associate in Maynard Nexsen’s Cybersecurity & Privacy, Corporate, Private Equity & Venture Capital, and Real Estate practice groups. Prior to joining the Firm, she worked as a Summer Associate in 2021 and 2022. She also served as Executive Office Director for the Mayor of New Orleans, and as a fundraising consultant for political and non-profit organizations across the South.
Amy's practice focuses primarily on AI governance, fiber and broadband development, data privacy, and cybersecurity. Regarding AI, cybersecurity, data privacy, Amy helps clients across various industries manage risk and ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining innovative customer service. This has included developing AI, data privacy, and cybersecurity policies and procedures, negotiating relevant contractual provisions and agreements, staying abreast of the evolving regulatory frameworks, and effectively responding to security incidents. Additionally, Amy provides regulatory and transactional counsel related to fiber and broadband infrastructure and development.
Amy is certified with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (“IAPP”) as an AI Governance Professional (“AIGP”), and was one of the first attorneys in the country to earn this certification. She currently serves as an IAPP KnowledgeNet Chapter Young Privacy Professional, expert participant in the Responsible AI in Legal Services (RAILS) Working Group at the Duke Center on Law & Technology, and as a member of Maynard Nexsen's firm AI Committee.
Amy is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and Tulane University. As a law student, she was a member of the Student Bar Association and the Georgetown Law & Technology Review. She also served as a Legal Fellow with Congresswoman Terri Sewell of the U.S. House of Representatives and as a Research Assistant to Sean Hagan, former General Counsel of the International Monetary Fund. As an undergraduate, Amy received the Presidential Scholar Award, the Robert I. Grossman Research Scholarship, and a Bowman Travel Grant, the latter which was used to study at the Pontifica Universidade Catolica in Rio de Janeiro her junior year. Amy is conversational in both Spanish and Portuguese.
