Overview
Baker is a Shareholder in the Firm’s Real Estate and Financial Services Practice Group. He represents developers, sponsors, and investors in the acquisition and development of real property, including mixed-use, retail, multifamily, other asset types, and in the formation of related joint ventures.
Baker’s commercial lending practice includes the representation of lenders and participants both in the southeast and nationally in a wide range of commercial financing transactions, including commercial real estate financing and asset-based lending.

- Represents a merchant development company in the development, financing, and sale of retail assets throughout the country
- Represents a value-add multifamily investment company in its purchase and sale of approximately 2000 units in seven states, agency financing, and equity partnerships
- Represents a lender in construction financing related to the $80,000,000 renovation of 1,400-acre historic inn and golf resort
- Represented a multifamily fund in sale of sale of its five property, $160,000,000 portfolio sale
- Represented Fortune 100 technology company in data warehouse and build-to-suit leases
- Represents self-storage company in acquisition of stabilized properties and developments
- Represented an investment and property management company in approximately ninety purchases or sales of stabilized multifamily properties
- Represented a lender in the financing of a coastal resort and entertainment facility
- Represented an operator of a youth academy in sale of its 40,000 square foot facility and subsequent lease within a shopping center
- Represented multifamily developers in entity formation, capitalization, construction financing, and subsequent permanent financing of Class A and mixed use project
