Overview
Bryony is an Associate in Maynard Nexsen’s Insurance practice group. She is skilled at handling complex litigation cases at every stage, from the inception of a case to trial or mediation.
Bryony has experience conducting depositions, advocating at numerous hearings, and drafting briefs for a plethora of discovery issues, including motions for protective orders, motions to compel, and pretrial motions. She has advocated before the Iowa Supreme Court, and recently tried a multi-million dollar wrongful death case to a defense verdict.
Prior to joining Maynard Nexsen, Bryony worked at local and international firms, honing her litigation skills to assist in obtaining favorable verdicts for the firms’ clients. In law school, she worked as a law clerk for a Fortune 500 company, where she negotiated contracts with a top ten global logistics provider, assisted with drafting policy manuals to be distributed to sales representatives throughout the U.S. and Canada, and educated employees on antitrust laws.
Born and raised in England, Bryony first obtained an LL.B. law degree from the University of York School of Law and worked as a legal conflicts analyst at a global law firm in the United Kingdom. She later moved to the U.S. to earn her J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law.

Outside Maynard Nexsen
Bryony has been downhill skiing since a young age and enjoys hitting the slopes at any opportunity. On her spare weekends, she regularly explores all the wonderful events Des Moines has to offer and goes on outings with her two golden retrievers Ellie and Chief.
