Overview

Bryony is an Associate in Maynard Nexsen’s Litigation section and Insurance group. Early in her practice, she began litigating contentious, high-dollar cases, securing several notable wins. Now, clients from all over the U.S. trust her to work tirelessly in representing their interests.  

Born and raised in England, Bryony first obtained an LL.B. law degree from the University of York. She later moved to the U.S. to earn her J.D. in two years from the University of Iowa College of Law. In her spare time, Bryony enjoys downhill skiing and going on outings with her two golden retrievers Ellie and Chief.

Experience

  • In 2023, Bryony successfully obtained a defense jury verdict at trial for a wrongful death case alleging damages of $12 million dollars.
  • In 2023, she obtained summary judgment on a case involving allegations of gross negligence with alleged damages in excess of $90 million dollars.
  • In 2022, Bryony argued before the Iowa Supreme Court.  
  • In 2022, she assisted in working up a case for trial defending against allegations of gross negligence. In closing, Plaintiffs’ counsel asked for over $10 million dollars. The jury returned a complete defense verdict.
  • In 2021, Bryony assisted in the defense of a lost chance of survival case, with claimed damages exceeding $10 million dollars. The defense team obtained a complete defense verdict.
  • Bryony has obtained a number of summary judgments in both Iowa and Florida.
