Overview
Carlo Julio Salas joins the firm with a decade of experience handling intellectual property matters. Carlo Julio drafts and prosecutes patent applications primarily directed to mechanical, electrical, and chemical arts. In addition, he manages domestic and international trademark portfolios and oversees global patent portfolios. Moreover, Carlo advises clients in the manufacturing and trade (M&T) sector, in particular, Aerospace and Defense firms, on business methods and process improvements.
Carlo Julio also offers clients valuable experience from his time at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory where he worked on government contracting and procurements, white paper drafting, IP commercialization, patent prosecution, and more.
Prior to joining the firm, Carlo Julio drafted and prosecuted patent applications mostly in the electromechanical and chemical arts, patentability searches and analysis, IP transactions and agreements, and trademark prosecution.
While born in Caracas, Venezuela, Carlo Julio was raised in South Florida and calls the American Southeast his home. He received his undergraduate degrees from the University of Florida, his J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law, and he earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee Haslam College of Business.

Carlo Julio enjoys recreational tennis (singles and doubles), gadgets and technology, and when not exploring those hobbies you can find him in the kitchen with a love of cooking and cuisine.
