Overview
David is an accomplished trial lawyer with a strong track record in employment litigation prevention and defense. He has taken numerous jury trials to verdict in both California state and federal courts, in addition to handling cases in federal courts across the country. With an emphasis on single-plaintiff matters, his trial experience spans a range of employment disputes, including discrimination and whistleblower retaliation cases, as well as complex commercial litigation. He has also successfully represented clients in arbitration hearings.
David takes a strategic, holistic approach to litigation, considering not just the legal merits but also the nuances of jurisdiction, jury composition, witness credibility, and case narrative. His ability to stay ahead of the litigation curve allows him to position cases for the strongest possible defense. While he frequently secures favorable settlements before trial, he is not afraid to litigate a matter through trial when necessary. When litigation becomes aggressive, David thrives in managing expansive discovery and complex motion practice. He is highly skilled at working with witnesses, shaping case narratives, and ensuring his clients are in the best position for success.
He has extensive experience representing major companies, including one of the world’s largest employers, and has secured complete defense verdicts in high-exposure cases involving nine-figure damages claims.
Prior to joining Maynard Nexsen, David litigated employment and commercial matters at specialized firms. David earned his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, where he was inducted into the Order of Barristers.
