Overview
Davis is an Associate in Maynard Nexsen’s Complex & Commercial Litigation practice group.
Davis is a skilled trial lawyer committed to providing tactical counsel and effective results. He manages complex cases in state court, federal court and arbitration related to commercial disputes and labor and employment issues. Davis has assisted with disputes related to employee compensation, discriminatory practices, unlawful termination, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), trade secrets and class action defense.
Davis has experience preparing and defending witnesses, securing decisive expert opinions and implementing early-stage litigation strategies aimed at achieving pre-trial dismissals and favorable settlements. He assists clients with responsive pleadings, dismissal briefing, discovery management, trial strategy and settlement negotiations.
Prior to joining Maynard Nexsen, Davis clerked for the Hon. Sean D. Jordan of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Davis helped oversee the adjudication of dispositive motions, discovery disputes and several trials. He also previously served as a litigator at boutique and global law firms.
Davis holds a J.D., with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law, where he served on the Editorial Board for the Texas Review of Law and Politics and as Editor of the Texas Review of Litigation. He earned a B.A. in English, with honors, from the University of Texas at Austin.
