Overview

Jason is an Associate in Maynard Nexsen’s Corporate and Private Markets sections where he practices in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, real estate finance, private equity investment funds and joint ventures, and domestic and global tax matters.

Jason’s transaction experience encompasses a broad range of industries, including healthcare, private equity, real estate, and IT. In the healthcare space, he frequently represents privately owned physician practice groups on the sell-side, in roll-up, and other acquisitive transactions. In the real estate sector, he frequently represents property owners, developers, operators, investment managers, and institutional investors in structuring joint ventures, partnerships, and real estate syndications in connection with the acquisition, financing, construction, management, and disposition of real estate projects across the United States. Jason also handles the creation, reorganization, acquisition and disposition of corporations, partnerships, and other closely held businesses for clients of all sizes and has extensive experience providing both legal and tax advisory services throughout all phases of the transaction lifecycle.

Prior to joining Maynard Nexsen, Jason was a Senior Associate in the Transaction Tax and International Transaction Advisory Services groups at Ernst & Young, LLP in New York City and Atlanta, as well as a corporate and tax Associate with a regional Florida law firm.

Jason attended the University of Florida, where he earned both a J.D. and a Master of Laws in Taxation from the Levin College of Law. He holds a B.S. in Business Finance from the Heaver School at the University of Florida and a M.B.A. from the University’s Hough Graduate School of Business with a specialization in Corporate Finance.

Jason was recognized by Best Lawyers as a 2025 "One to Watch" in the area of Mergers and Acquisitions Law.

  • Counsel to private equity investment fund client in the formation of a proprietary organizational structure with anticipated real estate investments totaling more than $250 million.
  • Counsel to one of the largest modular and factory-built residential home construction companies in the United States on various acquisitions and joint venture matters.
  • Counsel to privately-owned point of sale software developer in stock acquisition by information technology private equity fund for over $30 million in consideration.
  • Counsel to physician-owned healthcare clinic and ambulatory surgical center in a joint venture and equity acquisition transaction with national healthcare network for consideration totally over $20 million.
