Overview

Laura Mallory represents businesses across the industry spectrum in all aspects of labor and employment law. She regularly counsels clients on compliance with state and federal employment laws, hiring and termination policies, drug testing, and other employment-related issues. She drafts and reviews separation agreements, restrictive covenants, policies and procedures documents, and employee handbooks. Laura also defends employers against claims involving allegations of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, and FLSA violations.

In addition to her regular labor and employment practice, Laura has experience serving as part of merger and acquisition transactional teams to ensure that employment issues are properly addressed during due diligence and negotiations to prevent costly oversights, closing delays, or even worse, deal breakdowns. She helps buyers and sellers navigate wage and hour issues, pay practices, classification of workers, executive employment agreements and “change in control” provisions, among other issues.

Laura practiced in the Nashville office of Bass, Berry & Sims and in New Jersey at the law offices of Weiner Lesniak LLP prior to joining Maynard Nexsen. After law school, Laura served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable William L'E. Wertheimer, Superior Court of New Jersey, Civil Division.
