Overview

Michael is a Shareholder in Maynard Nexsen’s Government Solutions practice group. With extensive federal experience, he is skilled in defense contract strategies, military and government relations, governmental compliance, fraud investigations, white collar prosecutions, and international law.

A former Assistant U.S. Attorney and Chief Attorney with the U.S. Army, he has a deep background in multiple aspects of Defense Contracting and International Law. He has experience investigating and prosecuting federal offenses, conducting discrete investigations, and providing ethics, acquisition, and policy advice on complex and diverse contracting, fiscal and procurement law, and ethics issues.

He is adept at identifying strategies, developing teams, assessing risks, and leading decisive courses of action. 

Michael serves as an adjunct professor at Athens State University, where he teaches Government Contracting Law to undergraduate and graduate-level students. He is also a frequent presenter at regional legal seminars. 

Michael holds a J.D. from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, now known as the Texas A&M University School of Law. Michael earned his B.A. in Political Science from Trinity University.
