Michael A. Scarnecchia

Michael Scarnecchia is a corporate attorney in Maynard Nexsen’s Columbia office, where he focuses his practice on general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital, and commercial real estate. He represents a broad range of clients, including private equity funds, venture capital funds, family-owned businesses, emerging growth and high-growth companies, real estate developers, institutional investors, and corporate clients across multiple industries.

Michael regularly advises clients on all aspects of corporate governance, entity formation, private offerings, and joint ventures. His experience includes advising companies through buy-side and sell-side mergers and acquisitions, roll-up strategies, strategic investments, sales and other exits. His experience also includes counseling emerging growth and high-growth companies through their entire life cycle, from initial formation and early-stage to later-stage financings to strategic exits.

In his commercial real estate practice, Michael represents property owners, real estate developers, landlords, and institutional investors in the acquisition, disposition, development, and financing of commercial properties across asset classes, including office, multifamily, retail, and industrial. His experience includes negotiating purchase and sale agreements and commercial leases and advising clients on development and financing matters.

Michael remains actively involved with his alma mater, serving on the board of the University of South Carolina Lettermen Association. He also serves on the board of Original Design, a nonprofit focused on offering opportunities to children in the local community.
