Overview
Ashbrook is an Associate in Maynard Nexsen’s Corporate & Business Transactions practice group.
Ashbrook previously worked as a law clerk at the Firm, supporting a variety of business litigation and corporate matters. She also interned for the Honorable Sherri A. Lydon of the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, where she researched criminal and civil law matters to aid in case analysis and the preparation of orders.
Ashbrook holds a J.D., cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law. During law school, she served as an articles editor for the South Carolina Journal of International Law & Business and earned CALI Awards in Securities Regulation, Law and Economics, Transnational Law, Advanced Legal Writing, Evidence, and Military Law.
Prior to attending law school, she earned the South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year for Women’s Cross Country before heading to Boston College on an athletic scholarship to run cross country and track and field. During her collegiate athletic career, she received the Boston College Cross Country Rookie of the Year and received Atlantic Coast Conference Honor Roll honors all four years. She also earned Atlantic Coast Conference Performer of the Week and Boston College Cross Country MVP.
At Boston College, she majored in Sociology and minored in Faith, Peace, and Justice, graduating cum laude. Upon graduation, she came back to South Carolina to earn her Master of Public Administration from the University of South Carolina.
Running remains a huge part of Ashbrook’s life. In 2024, she was the first female finisher at the Coast Guard Marathon in North Carolina. Outside of work and running, she enjoys all things family and outdoors. Having grown up on a farm in South Carolina, the state holds a special place in her heart and she is honored to practice law in the Columbia office with a wonderful team.
