Overview

Stephanie is Of Counsel in Maynard Nexsen’s Insurance practice group. She concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial, insurance and employee benefits litigation, including coverage, breach of fiduciary duty, statutory penalty and benefits claims. 

With more than twenty years of legal experience, Stephanie skillfully supports her clients in federal and state courts with all types of benefit disputes, with a focus on health, life and disability claims under ERISA. She has also assisted insurers in numerous interpleader claims.

Stephanie has served as senior advisor and lead counsel on dispute resolution issues to the nation’s largest insurance carriers, employers, employer-sponsored benefit plans, claims administrators, third-party administrators and plan administrators. She provides dispute resolution services in pre-suit administrative proceedings and state and federal litigation. Stephanie has obtained numerous successful summary judgments and appellate decisions in ERISA cases within the Eleventh Circuit.

Prior to joining Maynard Nexsen, Stephanie practiced complex insurance, employee benefits, ERISA litigation and commercial litigation law at national, full-service firms. She began her legal career as an Assistant State Attorney at the Broward County State Attorney’s Office, where she conducted dozens of jury and non-jury trials.

Stephanie holds a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law. She earned her B.A., with honors, in Political Science from Emory University.

Outside Maynard Nexsen

In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her husband and two children and being actively involved in her community and children’s school activities.
