Maynard Nexsen Expands Trust and Estate Group in Alabama

Maynard Nexsen, a full-service law firm with 24 offices across the United States, is pleased to announce the addition of two experienced attorneys to the firm’s Trusts, Estates, Fiduciaries and Family Business practice group. Nancy Hughes and Anna Miller, who are merging their practices from the boutique firm Hughes & Scalise with Maynard Nexsen, have decades of combined experience in sophisticated trust and estate, probate, business and tax planning and general corporate work.

Clients have leaned on Nancy Hughes, Shareholder, for estate, trust and business succession planning for more than 30 years. She is skilled in taxation, probate, family wealth transfer, fiduciary law and powers of attorney. Nancy’s practice has earned a prestigious Band 1 ranking by Chambers and Partners in Private Wealth Law. She previously served as an adjunct professor at the Samford University Cumberland School of Law and for the L.L.M. and M.T.A. programs at the University of Alabama. Nancy is a graduate of the Samford University Cumberland School of Law and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Anna Miller will join the firm Of Counsel. She holds a J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science, magna cum laude, from the University of Alabama.
