As the COVID-19 pandemic creates new pressures for front-line health care workers, Nexsen Pruet attorneys are working to provide relief through the firm’s Pro Bono Program.
Since the Spring, Nexsen Pruet lawyers have been serving health care workers. The attorneys offered free guidance about estate planning and legal documents such as wills and power-of-attorney declarations that are necessary for individuals working in a high-risk industry like health care.
“Our firm has always been committed to giving back to our communities,” said William Floyd, Chair of Nexsen Pruet’s Pro Bono Committee. “I am proud of all the lawyers who are giving of their time and talent, and I am grateful to be part of a firm that supports health care heroes in both Carolinas.”
Two recent examples of Nexsen Pruet’s Pro Bono work come from Charlotte, NC and Greenwood, SC. On July 28 at Brightmore in Charlotte, Nexsen Pruet attorneys and staff prepared, delivered and executed more than 60 customized legal documents for employees. On May 26 at Self Regional in Greenwood, 30 essential workers were served.
