Nexsen Pruet Grows, Welcomes Three New Associates
Nexsen Pruet is pleased to announce the addition of three new Associates to the firm’s South Carolina offices.
“Nexsen Pruet is proud of the firm’s continued growth and the addition of Briana, Keely, and Michael,” says Leighton Lord, Nexsen Pruet’s Chairman. “After excelling as Summer Associates for the firm, we are pleased to welcome this group as Associates to our employment and real estate groups.”
Briana Cacace joins as an Associate in the Myrtle Beach office, where she concentrates her practice on both real estate and health care matters. As a member of the firm’s Real Estate and Environmental practice group, Bri supports a range of clients as they navigate the increasingly complex real estate industry. Additionally, Bri works in the firm’s Health Care practice group, where she is able to utilize her experiences in health care to assist a variety of clients. Prior to joining Nexsen Pruet as an Associate, Bri worked as a Summer Associate in the Myrtle Beach office and collaborated with attorneys on high-profile real estate and economic development matters. During her final year of law school, Bri also worked as a Law Clerk in the Columbia office, where she worked primarily on health care matters. Bri earned her undergraduate degree from Clemson University, cum laude, and her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law, cum laude.
Keely Fresh joins as an Associate in the Greenville office, where she focuses her practice on employment and labor law. Keely helps her clients navigate complex aspects of the employment relationship by assisting in litigation matters and counseling. As a Summer Associate at Nexsen Pruet, Keely gained experience in multiple practice groups by conducting research, preparing legal memorandums, and working with clients. She later furthered her experience by working with the office of the General Counsel at an Upstate S.C. manufacturing company. Keely earned her B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications with a minor in Law and Society, summa cum laude, from St. Bonaventure University, and her J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law.
Michael Scarnecchia joins as an Associate in the Columbia office, where he focuses his practice on real estate and corporate law matters. As a former University of South Carolina quarterback, Michael is known for using discipline and perseverance while navigating complex issues, and he applies those strengths to his legal work. Prior to joining the firm as an Associate, Michael worked as a Summer Associate for Nexsen Pruet during multiple summers, gaining significant experience and working closely with our real estate attorneys. He also served as a Law Clerk at a boutique litigation firm, where he worked on estate and trust matters, as well as a Law Clerk at a boutique transactional firm, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions. Michael earned both his B.A. in Finance, cum laude, and J.D., cum laude, from the University of South Carolina.
